Quiet time begins.

John chapter one.

In the beginning was the Word,

Oh, I didn’t save that word document I was working on.

Brb.

and the Word was with God,

God! It’s been three whole minutes since ‘not-so-close’ friend messaged me.

I must reply.

Now.

and the Word was God.

God! That was the fourth whistle on the cooker.

Wait, or was it the fifth?

Google, “How many whistles to cook pork?”

Oooooh…Pork vindaloo recipe video.

Click.

Suggested video: Jimmy Fallon interviews Lauren Graham.

Click.

15 minutes later… Erm, what was I doing before this?

Oh yeah!

The same was in the beginning with God.

God! Someone’s at the door.

Oh, the maid. How come she’s so late today?

All things were made by Him;

Ping!

Is that another Instagram notification? Ah yes.

Cute baby videos. Must watch.

Haha, that’s a funny meme.

I must send it to that friend. Done.

And without him was not anything made that was made.

“Made that was made?” That’s an interesting phrase.

Let me read this verse in another version.

Let me look it up.

Google.

News flash: India experiences highest daily spike in Corona cases.

What?

I must call mum and dad and check if they are okay.

10-minute conversation later.

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

A light appears. On my phone.

Another notification.

This is important. It can’t wait.

A client just emailed. Have to reply. Now.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

I need some water. I’ll go get some.

No maybe tea. Actually no.

I’ll need to pee then.

I think I need to pee now.

Brb.

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

A strong vibration.

An alarm goes off.

What? It’s been an hour since I started my quiet time?

Switch off alarm.

He came unto his own, and His own received him not.

Uh oh.

Thought provoking baby. Makes us sit back and think.
I too have battled with distractions but found ways to overcome it, with the help of The Holy Spirit, by either putting away the distraction and by finding the time n space when and where I am least distracted..
With me not possible but with Him it is possible.

I think this was elaborately crafted. It felt almost prophetic in nature, like Nathan telling David the story of rich man and the poor man, if that analogy makes sense.
